Thanks for the visit Hugh,
Its a shame the conditions have been so poor this year, the contact we made about 3 weeks ago was the first I have had with you since 2015...we miss you guys.
I hope your winter hasn't been too bad in Nova Scotia.
Here in Yorkshire its been wet and windy.

Hi, Just found the web page. W.W. group brings back old memories.
A lot of us went for our tickets with the decline of the sunspot cycle
I would just like to add, those that are still active/interested in the hobby there is a great Amateur radio simulated programme running on the Internet, known as HamSphere, if you didn't know already - it is open to 'Hams' and non 'Hams' alike. Amateurs can use their own call signs, those without a license are delegated a 26HS prefix in the old traditions of the Alpha Tango group.
This group is unlike other simulated programmes, it is a true programme which works with simulated propagation. The programme features all the Amateur bands and also 11m. If anyone would like to know more they can email me at [email protected] best wishes 73 de Paul 26WW661

Hello Paul,
Thanks for the visit to the site, Its nice to hook up with a fellow WW member.
I joined in 78 when the group was flourishing, I passed my ticket in 82 but it wasn't the same as operating on 11.
I will take a look at the HamSphere program it sounds interesting.

Hi my name is Harold.I am trying to find a PDL-2 beam if anyone knows where I can buy one.The only place I could find one was at Palco Electronics and it showed discontinued.I have had great success with the in the past and was wanting to set up another for my grandson. My email is [email protected] If anybody knows where I could get one I would be very happy and Thanks.

Hello Harold,
The PDL-2 was a wonderful antenna, not seen one for a number of years now. There is a Facebook group called CB/Ham Antennas with over 6,000 users. It might be worth signing up and asking the question. This is the URL

I have an old WW directory from 1989 with 1990 and 1991 suplement. This one is complete with the updates.

Hello Rob,
Thanks for stopping by the blog.
Fantastic news on the roster...I didn't know such a late one existed!!!
It would be great if we could get scans copies or photos of the directory. To be honest I never thought anything like this may turn up. I reached out to Henry who took over the club six months ago.
He promised to help mentioning all the data was on a CD and he would send it, after the initial contact it was a "no show" on the information.
My email address is [email protected] if you need it

Going thru some old papers and found my original membership card from the World Wide Radio Group issued March 30, 1981. Wondered what had happened and if still around. Thanks for the post and now I know.

Hello Bill,
It's a shame the group folded, I am guessing here but I think we Predated the Alfa Tango group. My call book is from 81 and I have the 82 book as well.

Hi Will
Nice one on the directory. I looked for mine after our last conversation but lost in the sands of time I did find a pack of unopened WW QSL cards though so not a wasted search.
Speak later
